Timeline
From a group of friends competing under the name Mouse Control in 2007 to one of the Benelux's most recognised esports organisations — this is our journey.

DOK Gaming Is Born
On 17 April 2007, what would become mCon esports started life as DOK Gaming — a grassroots project launched from the DOK library in Rotterdam. The first roster was a Counter-Strike: Source team, with the founder himself in the lineup.
First LAN Event
DOK Gaming hosted its first LAN party inside the library itself, bringing local players together under one roof for competitive play. A small but defining moment that proved there was real hunger for organised esports in Rotterdam.

DOK Meets Mouse Control
DOK Gaming merged with Mouse Control, uniting two local communities under one banner. The same year, SPAM Energy Drink came on board as the organisation's first-ever paid sponsor — a sign the competitive gaming world was starting to take notice.
Harstem Goes Pro
StarCraft II player Harstem was transferred to Fnatic — Mouse Control's first paid player transfer and a landmark moment. It proved the organisation could develop talent capable of competing at the highest international level.

Facility & First A-Brand Sponsor
Mouse Control opened an esports facility at the Bonami Spel & Computer Museum and signed Logitech as its first major brand partner. Player N33K became Dutch Champion in StarCraft II at the Dutch Gaming Festival — the first national title for the organisation.

Female Counter-Strike Roster
mCon fielded its first female Counter-Strike team, expanding competitive representation and opening the door for a wider range of players within the organisation.

Rebranding to mCon esports
On 17 April 2015 — exactly eight years after founding — Mouse Control rebranded as mCon esports with a new logo, a new visual identity, and office space at the Dutch Game Garden in Utrecht. A fresh chapter with sharper ambitions.

FIFA World Championship in Paris
Dani Hagebeuk won the Dutch qualifier and represented mCon esports at the ESWC World Championship in Paris — the organisation's first appearance on a global FIFA stage and a breakthrough into competitive football gaming.

Multi-Title Expansion
mCon expanded into League of Legends, CS:GO, and Rocket League in the same year, fielding competitive rosters across the ESL Benelux circuit and establishing itself as a true multi-game organisation in the Netherlands.
Official Esports Team of Rotterdam
mCon partnered with the Municipality of Rotterdam and renamed to mCon esports Rotterdam — becoming the city's official esports organisation. A unique collaboration between a local government and an esports team, with Rotterdam publicly backing esports as a legitimate competitive discipline.

European Masters & LG UltraGear
Competing under the mCon LG UltraGear banner, the League of Legends roster reached the European Masters Spring 2022 — drawing 94,500 peak viewers, the organisation's all-time viewership record. The LG UltraGear naming partnership marked a new level of commercial recognition.

Topsportlabel Rotterdam
mCon became one of the first three organisations to receive the Topsportlabel Rotterdam, alongside HC Rotterdam and Topjudo Rotterdam — official recognition as a top-level sports organisation by the city of Rotterdam. A historic milestone for mCon esports.
Expansion into Breda
mCon expanded into Breda while maintaining deep roots in Rotterdam. The move expanded the organisation's operational reach further across the region.
